The Chimp Presents has been a long time coming. I have wanted to do the site ever since I graduated nearly 5 years ago.
My intentions for the site are simply to make stuff. Whether that be drama or comedy audio or video I have had the pleasure of working with talented individuals and I’m looking forward to the site being an opportunity for them to show what they can do and develop themselves as Writers, Directors, and Actors etc. The site will also screen documentaries, I firmly believe that there are stories that deserve to be told, and what I love about producing work for the t’interweb is that unless you take it down, its there forever. I have seen some powerful, important, work that has never been screened again and never been released on DVD. We’ll also be producing music and chat based shows, seeing what works, what doesn’t and what we can do to push things forward.
On this blog, you’ll be hearing from the other creators involved in the site, whether it be the website developers, or the content producers, as they discuss the shows they are making or hope to make some day. So please support the site and the shows by getting involved, be constructive in your comments and let us know what you want to see.
I have a blog, http://www.onmejack.blogspot.com/ and for years I’ve struggled to find a voice what I want to do with it. I’m going to be using it to discuss Online Media, reviewing shows, talking to creators and developing analytical thought, or providing you with somebody else’s analytical thoughts.
I just want to take this time to thank some key people. Dom Lawson and George Wielgus, two writers who have stuck with me, well George is now the other side of the world but I believe that to be coincidental, as I’ve constantly gone ‘Guys I Have an idea’. Claire Pope, who listened to me mumble and ramble and then not do anything for far far to long, a documentary dabbler whose work you can look forward to seeing. Deidre Melvin, whom this site in inadvertently named after and finally Kevin Moore and Penny Keevil, without whom we literally wouldn’t be here.
More from these people and many others as the site develops and the blog fills up.
Be seeing you.
